Run the pickup queue board
Call order numbers from one screen, and see at a glance which orders have been waiting too long.
Steps
- 1
Open Queue
Tap Queue in the sidebar to open Order Queue. The item only appears when the order queue is switched on for your venue, and the register is open.
- 2
Set the board up the way you work
Use the search box for an order number or guest name, the All button and order types to filter, and the choice of No grouping, Group by order type or Group by table.
- 3
Watch the colours in Being prepared
A card in Being prepared moves from grey to amber, then orange, then red the longer an order waits. It follows your venue’s estimated prep time.
- 4
Tap Ready when the food is up
Tap Ready on the card. The order moves to Ready to pickup, where your guest sees their number is waiting.
- 5
Mark it collected
Once the guest has taken it, tap Picked up. The card drops into the Picked up section. Tapped the wrong number? Tap Undo and it goes back to Ready to pickup.
Every card also carries its payment state: Paid, Part paid with the amount still due, or Not paid. So the counter can hold an unpaid order back before handing it over.
Good to know
A little more depth, so your team understands why, not just which button.
The queue board is switched on per venue
Queue only appears in the sidebar when the order queue is enabled for your venue. Where it is not, the Order Queue page still opens but reads "The order queue is switched off for this venue." Message us to have it turned on.
The register has to be open first
Today’s queue is built from the register session that is running. Until a register is open, the board reads "Open the register to start today’s queue." So Queue follows the shift, not the clock.
Card colours follow your venue’s own estimate
A card changes colour once it has waited longer than your estimated prep time, then at double that, then triple. That way a warung that plates in five minutes and a kitchen that takes twenty both read correctly.
The queue, the kitchen board and the till are not the same screen
EnakKDS tells the kitchen what to cook. Queue tells the front which number is ready to hand over. Cashier handles the money. An unpaid order shows as Not paid on the queue board, so it can be held back.
