Steps

  1. 1

    Open Daily Recap

Tap Daily Recap in the sidebar. Under the heading it says "One day of this shift. The shift stays open."

  2. 2

    Pick the date

The Date field starts on today. For a shift that runs past midnight, pick another date to read one single day.

  3. 3

    Read the six rows

Orders, Guests, Total sales, Cash taken, Cash in and Cash out. Total sales only counts orders that have been paid.

  4. 4

    Check the drawer

The blue Expected cash in drawer now box covers the whole shift, not just that day. If it is off, record the difference with Cash Movement first.

  5. 5

Print it if you need to

Tap Print Recap to print the recap. The shift stays open and the till carries on selling straight away.

Daily Recap never closes the shift. To close it and count the drawer, use Close Register at the bottom of the sidebar.

Good to know

A little more depth, so your team understands why, not just which button.

A daily recap and closing the register are different jobs

Daily Recap only reads and prints. Close Register ends the shift, makes you count the drawer, and compares Expected against Counted. Use Daily Recap as often as you like, and Close Register once at the end.

Why there is a date picker

A shift can run past midnight, such as a bar closing at two in the morning. The Date field cuts the recap down to one calendar day, while Expected cash in drawer now still covers the whole shift.

Total sales only counts paid orders

Orders, Guests and Total sales come from orders that have been paid. Bills still open on the Active tab are not in there yet, so a mid-shift figure will keep climbing as those tables settle up.
