Clear the Print issues queue
A docket never reached the kitchen printer? Print issues tells you which print failed, and you reprint it from there.
Steps
- 1
Watch the red count
Print issues appears in the sidebar with a small red count whenever a print needs attention. When nothing is wrong, the row is not shown at all.
- 2
Open it and read the list
Tap Print issues. Each line names the printer or service area, then the reason: Print failed or Printer not responding, with the time it happened.
- 3
Reprint or dismiss
Each line carries two icon buttons: the printer icon is Reprint, the cross is Dismiss. Fix the printer first, then tap Reprint.
- 4
Clear the whole list
Once every print has been handled by hand, tap Clear all at the top right. An empty list reads "No print issues. Everything printed."
The list rechecks itself every 30 seconds. Dockets stuck on the device during an outage are pushed again at the same time, so a printer that comes back on your network recovers without waiting for the internet.
Good to know
A little more depth, so your team understands why, not just which button.
Two sources of trouble in one list
The list merges prints the server marked failed while you were online, and dockets stuck on this device while you were offline. Both look the same, so the till does not need to know the difference to reprint them.
Print failed versus Printer not responding
Print failed means the print was refused, usually out of paper or with the lid open. Printer not responding means the printer could not be reached, usually powered off or off the network. Check the printer first, then Reprint.
Dismiss is not the same as printed
Dismiss only removes that line from the list; nothing prints. Use it when you have already written the docket by hand or no longer need it. Clear all does the same thing to the whole list at once.
