Track the stock of one modifier option

One gelato flavour is gone but the rest are fine? Count the option instead of the dish, so guests can still order the flavours you have.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open Modifier Stock Management

In EnakVP, go to Your Menu > Modifier Stock Management. This page counts modifier options one by one, separately from Stock Management, which counts menu items.

  2. 2

    Add a count

Tap New Modifier Option Stock, choose the Modifier Option, enter the Initial Quantity and tap Create. Any option without a row here is treated as always available.

  3. 3

Adjust it when you need to

Tap Edit on the row, open Stock Adjustment, then fill in Adjustment Quantity and Adjustment Reason. For an option linked to inventory this section does not appear: change the quantity in Inventory and tap Sync.

  4. 4

    Check it before service

The Low stock and Out of Stock filters show which options are nearly or completely gone. Once a count hits zero, that option can no longer be picked in EnakPOS or EnakApp.

Two things catch people out. An option priced at 0 is not stock-checked, so a free option can still be picked at zero. And an option that is itself a menu item (an upsell) never appears here: its count lives in Stock Management.

Good to know

A little more depth, so your team understands why, not just which button.

The dish or the option?

Count the item when the whole dish is gone. Count the option when only one variant is gone, such as a single gelato flavour. Marking the item sold out when only one flavour has run out stops sales you could still be making.

Free options are not checked

An option priced at 0 is skipped by the stock check, so it can still be picked at zero. If a free extra can genuinely run out, give it a small price, or hide the option by switching Available off.

Upsell options are not listed here

An option that is itself a menu item is deliberately left off this page, because its stock is already counted as that item under Stock Management. One thing, one count.
