How to Create a New Menu Category

Menu categories group related items together within a menu. They appear as navigation tabs on both the Customer App and the POS.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Your Menu → Menu Management

  2. Click on the Menu Name you wish to add the category to

  3. Click Add New Category at the top right and complete the following fields:

    • Category Name — The label customers and staff will see as a navigation tab on the Customer App and POS. (e.g. Cocktails, Mains, Desserts)

    • Category Description — An internal note for your reference only. This is not visible to customers or staff on the POS.

    • Select Service Area — Choose the printer or service area that orders placed within this category will be routed to. Service Areas represent your kitchen stations or bar areas and are configured under Venue Management → Service Areas. If no Service Areas have been set up yet, orders will not be routed to a printer until one is created.

  4. Click Create to save, or Create & Create Another to immediately begin adding a second category
